Beautiful and Elegant Paper Cranes

Origami, the art of paper folding, was a favorite activity for my boys when they were young. We’d pour over the instructions and follow each step to intricately fold until we had a frog or bird or amazing airplane in our hands.

I love paper art (a respectable collection of pop-up books is a testament to that!) and SO admire artists who spend the time to carve and piece together detailed works.

So when I saw the work of Cristian Marianciuc my jaw dropped – he designs and builds the most amazing paper cranes! He started the work years ago by giving himself the challenge to do one crane a day for 1000 days, and now that he’s beyond that challenge he spends more time on each bird. His creations are gorgeous. You’ll find more about him as well as links to his Instagram and Etsy Shop right here: Elegant Paper Cranes Composed of Detailed Cuts, Folds, and Flowers

COLOSSAL is a site that shares art with the world. I highly recommend it!
